Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers that host this site keep basic technical records, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. These help keep the site secure and working. I also count visits with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not identify you, and does not track you across other websites.
Who helps me run things
I share information only with the kinds of services I need to run this site and my business:
- Email service: sends my newsletter and emails, and stores my mailing list.
- Website hosting and security: runs this website, protects it from attacks, and counts visits without cookies.
- Online store and payment processor: handles book sales and payments. You’ll see its name and terms at checkout. I never see your full card details.
- Video platform: plays podcast episodes. Videos only load when you press play.
- Form and message delivery: passes the messages you send through this site to my inbox.
These providers only use your information to provide their service to me. They have their own privacy policies and may store information outside your country, including in the United States. A list of the specific providers I use is available on request. I may also share information if the law requires it.
I never sell your information
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Emails and how to stop them
Every email from me has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you’re off the list. You can also email me and I’ll remove you.
How long I keep information
I keep your email while you’re subscribed. Inquiries and stories are kept as long as needed to respond and for my business records. Reconnection Question answers are kept until the report they inform is finished, and after that only without your name or email attached. You can ask me to delete your information sooner.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to:
- tell you what information I have about you,
- correct it,
- delete it, or
- stop sending you emails.
Email speaker@tamigarcia.com and I’ll respond within 30 days. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another place with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Where those laws apply, I rely on your consent (for emails) and my legitimate interest in replying to messages you send me.
Children
This website is meant for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you think a child has sent me information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Keeping information safe
The site uses a secure connection (HTTPS), and I only use trusted services to store information. No system is perfect, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
